Essential Responsibilities & Duties
• Prepare design plans, technical specifications and estimates for water resources projects, including but not limited to hydrology and hydraulic analysis and reports, storm sewer system design, culvert design and flood plain modeling for infrastructure projects
• Supervise engineering design technicians and other technical staff with multiple projects
• Prepare detailed written reports on technical assignments and present technical information to peers and clients
• Assist with preparation of scope and fee estimates for new projects
• Participate in project pursuits by providing technical expertise for proposals
• Independently research, analyze and calculate answers that lead to independent decisions on various work/client related issues
• Attend project meetings and work in a team environment or independently
• Facilitate meetings with internal staff and external clients
• Use Geopak Drainage for design of drainage systems for TxDOT projects
Minimum Requirements
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, or ability to obtain Texas PE license within six months
• Six years of experience in water resources for infrastructure projects
• MicroStation experience
• Geopak Drainage experience
• Experience with Arc GIS, Arc-Hydro and Arc-Geo RAS, HECRAS, HY8, HECHMS and XPSWMM are a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing for design reports and proposals
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite a plus
• Previous experience working in the transportation industry (TxDOT, DART, NTTA, municipalities) a plus
• Possess a valid driver’s license
